Fuel Retailers Association (FRA) & Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) .... National Union of Metalworkers of SA (NUMSA) .... Motor Industry Staff Association & SA Motor Union (MISA/SAMU) Outline of Main Agreement Structure. Division A. - Covers all establishments in the industry – definitions and various provisions Division B. - Provisions relating to office, stores, sales and clerical employees. Division C. - Has several chapters relating to different types of Motor Industry businesses Chapter 1 - Covers service stations. Division D. - Covers provisions relating to several sectors. A transitional arrangement for the development of a new bargaining model, may be deleted in future if parties do not reach consensus. Essentially about guaranteed increases (Rand and Cents) unlike Chapter III Manufacturing Establishments where increases are set by a %. Sector 5 - Covers "fuel dealers, service stations and related establishments" Sector 6 - Covers new and used vehicle sales establishments that also have a forecourt. The wages of these forecourt staff may differ from those of the stand-alone service station (Example: see Chars and "Other Areas" wage rates as per wage tables) The framework above will help the navigation. Publication Of The Collective Agreement
Please note that the collective agreement concluded between parties to the Motor Industry Bargaining
Council was published and extended in the Government Gazette No. 33963 dated 28 January 2011, a
copy of which is posted on the MIBCO website; www.mibco.org.za along with the Wage schedules which now
includes prescribed wages for learners engaged on a Learner-ship Contract in the Motor Industry.
Significant changes are highlighted in this document.
